Breathwork for Cold Water Swimmers Workshop, Sunday 17th May (12:30-14:30)

Cold water immersion can bring a powerful and immediate response in the body. Many swimmers notice their breathing changes dramatically during the first moments of entering cold water.
This 2-hour workshop offers an introduction to breathing practices and explores how the breath relates to the bodyβs response to cold water.
Together we will explore:
β’ the bodyβs natural response to cold water
β’ respiratory anatomy and breathing mechanics
β’ breathing practices that may help settle the nervous system
β’ awareness around afterdrop
β’ guided breathwork exercises
The session will include a mixture of gentle discussion, practical breathing exercises and a short guided relaxation.
This workshop is suitable for cold water enthusiasts who are curious about breathwork and would like to explore their breathing in a calm and supportive setting. No previous breathwork experience is needed
Places are limited to 12 participants to keep the group small and comfortable.
About the facilitator
Dani Blackie is a yoga teacher specialising in Yoga Nidra and breath-led practices. Through Rooted in the Wilderness, she offers yoga, breathwork and nature-based experiences designed to help people reconnect with themselves and the outdoors.
Dani is currently completing a 100-hour CPD in Breathwork with Laurent Roure.
